I picked up some new spark plugs (NGK R5300A-105) to have as spares. You can see how different (and short) they are compared to the shorty plugs normally used on the RS.

I decided to repaint the existing bodywork, since it will be at least a year before attempt to start racing AFM. While I had the bike apart, I also replaced a damaged radiator hose and flushed the cooling system, refilling with water and Water Wetter. Since I had a new rear stainless steel rear brake line in my spare parts, I decided to flush the brake fluid and install the new rear line. I also replaced the gear oil with some Motul 10/40.

I relocated one of the switches and fixed a couple of electrical connections. I also installed some medium compound Renthal grips.

After a little rewiring, carb cleaning, fresh fuel and a new battery, I was able to fire the bike up and take it for a quick spin. Once the bike warmed up, I really got to feel the way the power comes on. I went WFO in first gear, and once I hit around 10k rpm, the bike started to wheelie!! I think I am going to have a lot of fun with this bike :)
