While I was ordering spark plugs for the RS, I decided to get some for the SV and NX (NGK DPR8EIX-9) as well. I figured it the NX was probably due for a new plug, which was definitely the case. I also decided to start my headlight swap project today.

I had a new front tire (Avon Distanzia 90/90-21) and a new tube for the rear tire installed.

It felt like the clutch cable was getting old and stiff, so I decided to pick up a new one along with a new rear brake light switch (which was starting to only work intermittently). The switch solved the brake problem and the clutch cable made a HUGE difference. So much easier to clutch now.

My speedometer started acting odd, which turned out to be the speedo drive at the front wheel. After taking things apart, I decided I should replace the wheel bearings and brakes as well. As far as brakes, I rebuilt the caliper, installed new pads and rotor, then flushed the brake fluid.

I purchased my friend Alex's NX as my adverse weather/hooligan bike. I will say that after riding it for a few days, I think this will be much more than just a bike for wet weather! It is really fun to ride and I really like the height and riding position of a dual-sport. I did a little bit of mud riding, though I should change tires before I try to do more of that :) For maintenance, I did an oil service and replaced a broken taillight lens.
